Youth Ministry Certificate in Guatemala

From May 24th through 29th, thirty-six youth leaders from across the MAC Central Field participated in the Youth Ministry Academy course Youth Ministry Biblical and Theological Foundations that was taught by David Gonzalez at the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Guatemala.

In January of 2010 the NYI field office in MAC Central started a Youth Ministry Certificate program in partnership with the YMA, with the purpose of supporting the ministry that many youth leaders are doing in that field. The program began with 34 students and after 6 months, now 36 students are enrolled who spend an entire week each month at the NTS facilities for an intensive course.

This group comes from different ministry contexts but they have one thing in common: they are fully committed to learn, minister and impact their local churches through the power of the Holy Spirit and the training they are receiving.

This particular course concluded on Friday night, the 29th, with a plenary session where youth from the Central District in Guatemala joined the program students to experience a blessed service where each one of the attendees were encouraged to minister together as a family being transformed by the Holy Spirit and with the only one desire of being like Christ.

Please, pray for Milton G. Valencia, Director of the Youth Ministry Certificate program, who is doing a great job, and of course for each one of the students of this program. We look forward to hearing more news about this exciting initiative.
